Callie is a theatre and opera director based in London. Originally from the USA, Callie has previously lived in New York City where she worked with organizations including The Wooster Group, New Georges and Fresh Ground Pepper. She moved to London for a Masters in Advanced Theatre Practice at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and is currently working as a director in the UK on a Global Talent Visa with organizations including: Royal Academy Opera, Into Opera, Barefoot Opera, English Touring Opera, Blackheath Halls, Waterperry Opera Festival, Slackline Productions, Hidden Tales, Tramshed, The Space and VAULT Festival.
Callie is passionate about developing innovative ways of engaging audiences directly into the world of a production. This involves working in an interdisciplinary, interactive way, often in site-specific spaces as well as in theatres. In 2018 Callie founded The Heroine Chronicles, creating new interactive performance work in site-specific spaces with educational outreach for young people ages 13+.
As a educator and workshop facilitator Callie has worked at East 15, the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Trinity Laban, the National Theater Institute, The Space Theatre, South London Theatre, Peace Child, Shakespeare Schools Festival, BeHerLead, National Citizen Service and as a LAMDA tutor.
